Just installed new kitchen countertop and sink. New sink is same or very close to old where we had no issues. Hooked up with a few mods. All good other than when turn on disposal a little water splashes up through second sink for a couple seconds then settles Same thing when dishwasher drains.
Thinking the horizontal run out of disposal may need to drop down an inch or two to increase distance below second sink? Use black piece being held in photo? The tee connection to second sink seems a little closer than before.
Before I start cutting in new parts hoping can confirm best solution to fix?
Pictures attached of before set up and after. First photo before all other after
Thank you

Make sure that the "T" fitting has a baffle and that it is installed correctly. The "U" of the p-trap is installed backwards (note the sharper angle on the outflow side of it), which may be contributing to the backup.

Yes. You’re right on baffle too.
But I’m not seeing room to get the tee in on top to sink drain? Any help on how to fit that in?

Also is this drain taller deeper than normal? I’ll start looking but thought I’d add that to list too.
Thank you

1. You can get a drain with a shallower basket.

2. Instead of a straight discharge tube, you could use a curved discharge tube. A curved discharge tube may have come with the disposal.

3. You could also add an offset to drop the level. If the distance is long enough, you could use a "double offset". Those are about 12 inches long. This is unlikely to be your best choice.

1. On the curved discharge how much higher than the wall drain does that need to be? Tried to show in photo with level from wall side to disposal. Disposal side is approx 1 3/4” higher than wall side. Probably would use up most of that making turn off disposal?

2. I see some 2 3/4” drains. That should give me 1 1/4. Thinking I could squeeze the two nuts and a short straight piece to connect to tee?

Thank you

Thinking I’ll try the attached. It’s 2 1/4” height so should pick up enough space
Question- Assuming I can attach a plastic piece to this? If you could share the piece I will need I’d really appreciate it

Thank you

starting at time 0:38 gets into this.
What I am not able to tell you is what exactly to what to buy.
At Home Depot and https://www.supplyhouse.com/sh/control/search/~SEARCH_STRING=tailpiece I can find branch tailpieces (dishwasher input) and flanged tailpieces. What I am not finding is the corresponding nut and washer. I know they are there. I just don't find the pieces to point out to you.

Yes, that’s what I had in mind.
Very good, i think I have a plan. Drain should be here by end of week.

Thank you for all the support and doing it so quickly.
