Hi ,I need a new HVAC system .I have gotten a few estimates from local companies. I am looking for some advice or opinion .2 system one American Standard and and a rheem both 96%EFF,3 ton air ac unit 15 SEER . new April air filter new thermostat everything the same except brands .
but Rheem is lot less expensive then American standard . I just want the best one but don't know if A S is woth the extra cost
any thoughts on which brand ? is A S better then Rheem ? does the professional on here prefer one over the other?any opinion oradvice be appreciate. George

American standard is Trane. Rheem is Rheem. Both good units warranties the same? New furnace, refrigerant lines with matching evaporator coil? Contractor is more important that the equipment. Shoddy workmanship with the best unit just isn't good.'

Now is the time to address any air flow problems. Don't forget about rebates or federal energy tax saving probably gone for putting in higher efficiency unit. Check with your electric company.
