So I'm in the framing stage of a new home. 4 toilets with 4" main drain line. 3" waste to the toilets. My builder just fired the current plumbers and get this....the new plumber wants to jack hammer the brand new slab and put in 4" to the main discharge line. I'm in shock. We spent a fortune on that slab, is got so much rebar it'll support a 3 story house...ha. Mines a single story 3300 sq ft. My question is really, is this necessary or is 3" satisfactory. I also don't want to be plunging my toilets every time we go. The slab is 108' long, single story on septic system. Do you guys think I'm really at risk of blockage with the 3" lines? The thought of opening up my slab in four spots makes me ill. I'm not inclined to do it but wanted some pro's thoughts.
Thanks.
