New 2" well point draws only 1Gallon every 5 minutes.

I thought I'd be in great shape with this well since it's sandy here, the water table is 5 ft. below grade, I'm 110 ft from an inland lake & lake superior is a mile away. I prime the pump, pull the 2" cap off the "T", fill that with water. Putting my hand against it, there is plenty of suction...(I was afraid my hand would get sucked in!) I wonder if this new 2" point is somehow plugged Does it need back washing??. Any suggestions out there? Thanks, Jim

This is awkward, but...
