Right now I have an Autotrol 155 unit, that was installed in 1985, still works great and the water is fine. I know it is on borrowed time & want to replace my softener before it lets loose. After spending a month on here gathering information I have decided to go with a Fleck 5600stx. with 10% crosslinked resin & res-up feeder. When using the companies online size calculator that I plan to buy from they recommend a 96000 grain unit, which sounds big. I did a few other sizing calculators & a 32000 grain unit was recommended. Also we might be getting one more adult. I would really appreciate any & all recommendations. Thanks.
My current pre softener water test reads as follows:
total iron-22.7mg/l
ph-6.34mg/l
Hardness-200mg/l .which I figured to be 11.6gr of hardness.
Manganese-1.295 mg/l
3-adults
3- baths
