Need opinion on possible s trap in bathroom sink

We had a plumber redo our bathroom sink for a new vanity.
The way it was done, we can't patch the wall because the pipe in the back is sitting at the same level as the wall.
It also looks like he might have turned it into an S trap to avoid cutting the vanity.

Does this plumbing look ok, or should we re do it?

That is an S-trap and does not meet code.

Thats wrong, Id leave it how it is. That does not look fun to fix proper

I would fix that.
It's an S trap that will siphon and you also have the wrong fittings at the wall.

Done by cutting the lower shelf

Done by adding an AAV for venting.

I think we're going to redo it with the p trap and cut a hole in the vanity.
Is there anything specific we need to look for fittings at the wall?
