Have a 1000' deep well 35 years old+ the control box says Berkely SN-793 8327

Model 4al39 BM#50517

and some others: 282 3007 3102

1.5 HP - cannot find any info online.

The users have always been turning it on manually to fill a tank and then shut it down manually, so the pump has had 'light' use and no cycling. But there is some pause on water supply and a small amount of noise, so perhaps the check valve is leaking, and I would guess that their are a few check valves in the galv. pipe string also.

Can anyone tell me how many stages this pump has, and guess how long it might continue operating? Unknown static water level or set depth.

They drilled the well on the very top of a high mountain so they could gravity feed.

Hey, wait a minute.
