Need help for old well on a newly purchased property 2 inch 100ft well

I have some experience with shallow well pumps. This is my first time try a deep well single pipe ejector assembly. Static water line is 82 foot deep. Well is 2 inch 100ft total depth. So that leaves 18 ft of water in the casing. What depth should I place the ejector assembly? Can it be above the static water line and use a tailpipe. I placed it at 93 ft with no tail pipe, but whe I pour water down the pipe the water always drains down. I'm scared that I may be below the well screen. Any help is so greatly appreciated!

I think the leathers will seal better when installed below static. 93' with no tail pipe or a short tail pipe sounds good, but either the foot valve is not holding or the leathers haven't sealed.
