Hello, my Kohler 2 handle shower faucet has a drip leak. Can I please get some advice on how to loosen and get the cartridge (if that is the correct term) out and what I should replace? If anyone can help explain what type of Kohler this is, or direct me to other posts I would appreciate it.

On the second picture, a 7/8 wrench fits but i did not want to break/force anything.

thanks. I am a novice trying to learn.......

Mike

You unscrew the large hexagonal 'nut' and pull the stem out. There will probably be a brass "barrel" on the end which is the "seat". You should only have to replace the rubber washer on the end of the stem.

hj, your advice is appreciated. Getting the hex nut loose took a deep socket and breaker bar.
thanks!
