I have a Navi NPE240a
I cannot get it to recirculate at all.
Switch is in Int position
Dip switch 1 is ON
the recirc pump gets REALLY hot and does not recirc water.
I can get hot water but takes time to flush the lines of cold water.
Any help??

Is this a new install or the problem just started with an already working unit?

I have the same problem. Serviceman noted there was no drainage valve on the recirc. line. He installed one and released an air lock in the line. One possibility is that as a result of the airlock (present since unit's installation about 6 months ago), the pump burned out. A new pump is now on order from Navien.

Would be better if there was a photo of the INT or EXT valve. Because from the photos it looks like an external recirculation line has been set up.

Read the installers manual. Usually there are drawings and a description of the recirc modes.

I have an HTP unit with an internal pump. So I'm assuming it's somewhat similar.

Internal recirculation mode means it rotates the water within the unit itself to keep it warm.

External circulation is when you flow hot water through the house and back to the unit.

Looks like Your piping is set up for external circulation. And you're telling us you have the unit setup for internal circulation.

I'm assuming that white pex line connected to the recirc port is in fact your hot water return.
