It's not a thermistor issue. It's a toggle switch. The switch is in the exhaust collar. the switch housing is black. If you can get the exhaust pipe out, you can test the switch manually. The one I experienced that was bad the switch did not click or move when pressed.

if I get the exhaust vent collar kit like on the 240A2 will that work to clear the error and can I do that myself by lifting out the pipe or does that collar kit need to be redrilled and attached to the 210A top?

The "A" series does not have a VID sensor. Since you hijacked this thread I assumed you had an "A2". Did you install an "A" or "A2" PCB board?

Not being a jerk, just explaining why I was confused at the answers I was getting. Don't be sensitive...if you installed an A2 board it has a port for the VID sensor. If nothing is plugged into it then it thinks no exhaust vent is installed. So you either need to install the correct board or the A2 collar with the sensor. I would do the correct board if it was me. Where are you getting parts from? Navien does not sell online except through authorized retailers and you usually have to be a contractor. Installing parts purchased from unauthorized sources voids all warranties. This is also why Navien prefers to have work done by licensed trained technicians I.E. so that the trouble you are having from installing the wrong part doesn't happen. PCB part #30011969A
