I have started to have my combo boiler whistle when I take a shower during the winter months. It does not whistle when I use any of the sinks with hot water only the shower. I have flushed the domestic side with descaler every year since 2019. I checked the supply water screen and it's clear. I vacuumed the inlet pipe to make sure there is nothing causing a flow restriction. When it's whistling like a tea kettle I take the case off and I smell gas from inside the unit. But when I take the case off the whistling goes away and stays away until I put the case back on and almost immediately starts whistling again. Could it have a small glass leak inside the case and be pulling in that gas into the burner and causing the air fuel ratio to be off this causing the whistling. I have two propane tanks and have read that sometimes this issue can be caused by faulty regulators. Whenever I need propane I noticed that one tank empties before the other. For example one might read 20 percent on the dial and the other will read zero. Maybe it's a regulator issue. Any help would be great. The unit it's from 2016.
