This is the water line that connects the kitchen sink plumbing (hot side) to the dishwasher. This white/yellow stuff has the consistency of thick vaseline when moist. Somewhat chalky too.

Went to Culligan and they said they have seen it but don't know what it is or why it occurs? That is a little sad.

Anyways, I just got done fishing a wire down the hot water valve for the washing machine. Must have knocked a bunch of this crap loose because now the valve flows strong... Though it did kill the water fill solenoid on the washing machine - must be crud inside the electronic valve as the screens are clear.

Any ideas? Please help.

Let the crud dry and crushed with fingernail. Dug some crud out of valve too. The cruddy valve is now in vinegar and appears to be getting cleaned. These images were taken with a macro lens so very close up. Some of the debris is a little powdery, some is more gritty.

Could it be that the creamy stuff is what is made first, and then sediment, etc. sticks to it?
