Moen Posi-Temp Stuck Shower Handle Adapter

Trying to install a new cartridge but I can't remove the handle adapter, I have a puller but not sure how much force I should apply don't want to break anything, This sucker is stubborn.
What can I do?

The handle comes off with the screw in the middle of the holder.
The chrome tube slides off.
You may need to remove the round plate at the wall also to get to the clip that holds the cartridge in. Pull upward on the clip to remove.
The cartridge comes out, the new one goes in, the clip drops back in to hold it.

I removed the Handle can't remove the handle adapter

They can corrode to the stem and if a handle puller does not remove it, I usually have to cut them off.

- You can use a small drill bit to cut the plastic cartridge away. Work slowly, don't damage the brass body.

- You can call a pro.

- You can replace the body rough in.

He has NOT gotten that far. RIght now he is trying to remove the handle adapter so he CAN work on removing the cartridge.
