Hello everyone.

We bought our first house last Winter and I’m slowly changing some things.

The main shower in the house was difficult to use so I figured out it needed a new cartridge.

I switched out the cartridge and fixed that problem.

I figured out I have a Moentrol valve and wanted to update it a little bit so I bought a Moen TL170 trim kit.

The bolts don’t match up so I’m assuming I need a hardware attachment kit?

and how do you get the piece that goes over the valve itself past the trim piece? It keeps popping off even on my old one and gets stuck so the handle won’t turn. I attached a pic of my current setup.

or maybe the Moen TL 170 isn’t the correct trim kit for my valve? attached a picture. Thanks!!

If you want to use the Moentrol trim on your 2600 valve body, you will need the 14508 conversion.

Or pick up the TL470 trim that works for your valve.
