I'm trying to replace a striped shower handle but can't figure out how to get it off.
I was expecting to see a screw under the cap but there's a solid metal piece.

Any ideas on how to get this off?

You have a Moen Chateau push pull faucet. It used either a 1200 brass cartridge or the 1225 plastic cartridge. Either one works with it.
There should be a screw there. You might need to drill that out and buy a new handle.
