I have a Moen shower handle (unknown model) that doesn't seem to have a set screw. Before I go yanking on the handle, any thoughts on how to take this piece off?

Moen claims there is no other part holding this on. Recommended lightly tapping with rubber mallet and/or spraying 50/50 mix white vinegar/water to dissolve build-up. No luck with mallet. Going to try vinegar solution next.

Sounds right. There are times when it seems things are stuck like glue, and then the bathroom next door the part will just fall off in my hands.
