I tried to adjust the fill level and the screw stripped out. Do I have to get a mansfield fill valve or will a universal from Lowes fit?

If universal, Korky or Fluid?

A couple years ago I came back from vacation and turned the water back on. It blew the top off a fill valve. Fortunately the sound alerted me to it, and doubly fortunately it was in the basement. Awful mess before I could turn the water off. I don't care how loud the new valve is, but would like it to not fail like that!

Thanks for the link. The valve rebuild kit looks good, but I can't seem to unscrew the cap at the top. I presume you turn it counter clockwise? Or do I have to remove it from the tank first?
