Gas has seperation requirement, I think just the meter but screwed pipe (iron). Water I dont think has a requirement at least copper, plastic might, drain lines cast iron no hub they are a little skitish around some electrical equiptment. I dont think that many or most electritions know all this stuff . The Codes are specific but The utility providers requirements often are not code but there own requirements must be met and they dont care what the city building inspector say. They decide where the meter goes as well. Best bet is be curteous with them. Ive had clearance issues with seperation of gas meter from electrical. It gets interesting. they argue gas meter gotta be so far away You tell them grab a tape measure your measuring from a pipe not from the meter, you are wrong they are right is how it works.
