Hi All,

I have 2 very active sump crocks in my basement with pumps that fire every 30-60 secs 24/7 for most of the year. The pumps themselves are fairly quiet but the sound of the discharged water rushing up and out of the basement is really loud. Is there anything I can do to minimize this noise? People I've talked with have recommended cast iron or galvanized steel.

Also, any recommendations on quality continuous use sump pumps as I am planning on replacing my pumps soon.

Thanks,
Jeff

Cast iron is very quiet. It sounds like you have cut into a clay or rock layer and hit a spring.
It's too bad you can't drain that by gravity.
