Hey all-

In the process of designing/rebuilding the first floor of my home here in Oak Park, Illinois (just outside of Chicago). We're thinking about adding a laundry room and bringing the washing machine out of the basement and up to the first floor. The proposed room however will not be near the existing plumbing wall where all of the existing DWV piping lives. Since it would be much easier/straightforward to bring the vent up from the basement as opposed to installing a new VTR, is it feasible to install a loop vent like some install for an island sink? I'm thinking that the machine will drain into a standpipe however we may actually install a laundry tub. AAV's are not allowed by the Illinois Plumbing code.

Thanks in advance!

I think you will find that loop vents are only allowed for a kitchen island, where there is no feasibility of running a vertical VTR.
