I have an outdoor spigot for which I need a replacement valve stem, and I've been entirely unable to locate this item online. Can anyone help me identify it or tell me where I could find a replacement for it?

Stems are generally not replaced. Valve is swapped out or parts swapped if you find a match.
Hopefully your valve has a threaded brass nipple behind it.

First question, do you need the stem, or can you rebuild the stem? Washers and bibb screws easily available online. If the stem is no good, and it's difficult to replace the valve, you might try ordering a new nibco valve with a multi-turn handle, I think they still make some. It might have the same same stem. I had to deal with this once a few years ago, the valve was sweated on. Had to open from the other side, installed a brass nipple. However you cannot backwrench the nipple, so the pipe should be well supported for this purpose, or an access panel may be desirable.

Thanks for the replies. I agree that I would much rather replace the entire valve with a ball valve, but I don't think there is a threaded nipple behind it, and on the other side of the wall it's sweated to an elbow right against the wall.

I wanted to rebuild the stem, and specifically wanted to add a washer under the top nut, but after successfully sawing through and removing the screw that holds the handle in place, I found the handle to be effectively fused on. WD-40 didn't help, and when I tried to pull or pry the handle off, the handle broke. Now I could probably heat up the handle with a blowtorch and remove it then, but if I can just replace the entire stem, it'll be easier.

If I can't find the stem and if I cannot unscrew the valve (since it is probably sweated to the pipe), then I'll need a plumber to redo the elbow and everything downstream from it, probably with press-fit given zero clearance from the wall.

You'll never believe what showed up in my youtube feed, this guy repairs nibo valve that looks like yours with stem from bluefin valve. Let me know if it works, I'm curious.

DIYorBust, that's fascinating. I have a potential exact match valve stem showing up today, but if it doesn't work I'll try the bluefin valve. For the benefit of anybody else in the same situation, it looks like this part might be what the video used: 1/2" CxC Sillcock (Lead Free), Brand: Bluefin, SKU: SKS050

The replacement I purchased fits perfectly (P1-21-208), so I won't need to try the Bluefin alternative. Thanks again to all of you who make this forum such a valuable resource.
