I have an old p-trap under the bath sink, that is 1-1/2 in diameter. The top p-trap nut that joins the 1-1/4 sink drain tailpipe with the 1-1/2 size p-trap is broken at the thread(in yellow circle in the photos). I attached photos for reference.

I do not think there is enough room for the 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 pipe adapter under the sink.
Is it possible to still buy this p-trap nut? If not, can I use the ABS glue to repair the p-trap nut?
Or is there a better idea for this problem?

Thank you very much.

That thing that has the threads and the nut and washer is called a trap adapter. I think you can probably cannibalize the nut and washer from a new trap adapter. Inspect the threaded end of the new trap adapter to see if it looks like the old.

If the nut and washer from the new trap adapter don't fit, it looks like you could cut the pipe that the trap adapter is glued onto, and glue on the new trap adapter. You would probably have to get a longer tailpiece or get a tailpiece extension in that case.

Thank you very much for the reply, Reach4, hj.

Yes, I learned that all I needed was the reducer washer or reducing washer ( 1-1/2 to 1-1/4) with 1-1/2 slip nut.
hj, I thank you very much for the suggestion.
