There was a leak in my apartment bathtub that has been repaired, but not the tub faucet does not reach the threads. I went to home depot and bought a slip over tub faucet adapter kit but am having some trouble.

I have assembled the adapter and put it on the tub, but the water pressure from using the shower shot the whole assembly off. I have read the manufacture's directions (Danco) and watched there videos and done everything that they have suggested with no success.

Any advice before I return the faucet and solder a new fitting/adapter on for good?
