Leaking Roman Tub fixture

Any DIY suggestion on how to repair this fixture. It leaks when the hot or cold faucett are on. Hope you can tell from the photos. Thank you in advance for your help

I'm assuming its leaking at the nut because the look of it someone had put a wrench or pliers to it. Shut off the water and open the faucet to allow the pressure to drop. Back off on this nut and completely unthread it. If the threads and pipe look good (no corrosion), clean it up and place some pipe sealant on the threads. If that is a compression nut, put a little on its threads and at the pipe where is passes through the nut and then snug it up. Do not overload it with pipe sealant. I stood on my head,
I tilted my head almost 45*,
I even turned the screen 45* and 90*,
And I still couldn't tell what was in the picture,
But the leak looks like Niagra Falls.
