I have a small Kohler toilet, which I assume is a Rialto from the pictures I've seen.

The toilet seat nuts seem to be completely inaccessible, and the seat is bolted on very loosely. I can turn the screw, but pulling up on the screw seems to have no effect.

I've felt inside the tank and can't find any opening for reaching the nuts, and they certainly aren't accessible from outside the toilet. I can't for the life of me figure out how the manufacturer got them into the space.

Any ideas on how to replace the nuts, or just how to tighten the screws?

    thanks in advance.
