I installed a new Kohler K-596 Simplice single handle kitchen faucet about 6 months ago, and it has been flawless until this morning. I noticed a whirring sound that only occurs when the hot water is all the way on. It is somewhat intermittent as sometimes it won't make the sound if I switch between cold and hot. I took the spray head of and inspected for debris, but I didn't find anything obvious. Any ideas what could be the cause?

It may be something in the cartridge. What decade was the home built in?

2008 should be pretty good piping. You can still pick up dirt in the line depending on the source.
Sometime from the water heater. You are at eight years with the water heater. There can be some junk there on the hot side.
