Kohler Archer Ledger Needed?

I’m installing a Kohler Archer this week, instructions do not mention the need for a Ledger. Only a mortar bed. For those who have installed this tub, did you use a ledger?

Directions don't show using a ledger board. I like using them when the floors are out of level, which helps me to align it, shimming the apron, and if needed the piles of mortar.
If the floor is flat, then the construction adhesive is all I use.

Construction Adhesive: Apply a generous amount of construction adhesive to the bath feet or base.
