Kitchen Vent location

Doing a major renovation, need to make a vent through to the roof (as shown on the drawing). I;m not sure if this is allowed, kindly give me some advice. Thank you.

You can turn the vent in the attic so that it can come out more near the peak of the roof.

In some areas the requirement for a vent line specifies that it has to terminate ABOVE the peak of the roof, which would make your vent line very tall if it exited at that point.
