Kitchen sink faucet weight not in correct position

Typical single hole kitchen sink with retractable head. The weight has no way to adjust it.Which doesn't create any pull back hanging at the bottom. The install instructions show it that way, hanging at the bottom of the loop

Is this normal, seems wrong

some faucets they just fit loose. The ones I've put in in seemed to work ok. Make sure all other plumbing below is not in the way. Other option is to wrap tape below where you want it

I think it is not supposed to be a retractor. However it seems to me that you could tape your weight to the hose a little toward the sprayer to get more pull. But then you limit the pull-out distance.
