My old sink drain is a cheap plastic one, which has the nut tightened right up to the sink bottom. I bought a new Elkay which has a metal 'pressure cup'.
Any advantage of one type over the other? Or opinions on these?
Thanks. And Happy Thanksgiving!

The pressure cup styles work well. They all work though. There is such a variety out there now, you just pull them out of the box and go for it.

That design where the nut is farther from the sink would make it easier to cut away a stuck nut without danger of hurting the sink. Small factor, I think.
