Kitchen double sink mildew, need 2 traps?

Novice needs advice. New house; double kitchen sink is giving mildew smell from non-trapped side. Do I need to add a 2nd trap between primary. No disposal installed.:(

It is probably not a "sewer" smell....just slude buildup in the pipes before it ties into the trap. Flushing the drain with a hot water and lysol solution may improve the smell
