I have a Kinetico water softener with sulphur guard. I am at the point that I'm convinced that I need new filtration media for it. I've tried all aspects of regenerating the system with cleaners etc. to get rid of the brownish water with no avail. I am getting brownish water and sometimes blackish water. I've contacted a Kinetico service provider to try and order the filtration media but they will not sell it to me without a service call and the tech has to order it and install it. I don't want to go that route. Is there an alternative filtration media that is comprible with the system I have that uses unscented bleach for the regenerating process ?
