I have to deal with a company that knows they gotcha 'cause it's Kinetico proprietary I guess... they come out when it's convenient for them, no matter what kind of crappy water is flowing through the house... so I'm trying to do this myself.... I don't have original paperwork, and they won't even tell me what system they sold me (12 yars ago), all the tags on the tubes are faded... I think it's a 2060S OD system with overdrive (tech said it uses both tanks unless regenerating)... house is 4 bathrooms......

regeneration starts automatically, but then does not advance... both tanks.... I've been doing it manually for a few days deciding what to do... I recently rebedded it with regular and tannin resin, could too much media cause it not to advance? Guessing, I think I have about 12" of space over the media... Backflush has a big water flow when draining, brine rinse is very slow.... It won't advance automatically for either operation.... tech said he can see the teeth almost engage to advance but do not completely engage.... says the level one needs replacing ($700) because it's worn and apparently lets the cammed pawl (?) wobble and not engage the teeth.... you guys know this is aggravating, can't get any answers or help from the company...

If the level one is in fact bad, I was gonna replace the valve with a fleck 9100 that I can maintain and have to deal with Superior Water in Tampa as little as possible...

I have worked with Kinetico for many years. They are an amazing company with a unique product line. Unfortunately some of their dealers know they got you and have little concern for the end user. Most of the Kinetico deelers we work with are exceptional, too bad your has not been that way.

It could be a couple of different things. The regen drive pawl advances the system through a regen. It is spring loaded so if the spring is broken it will not advance through a cycle. I have heard of people installing this pawl backwards. Also, there is a flow control in the level 3 that may be clogged. The crooked arrow in level 2 directs water flow to the regen turbine which advances the system through a regen. The regen turbine may also be bad. There is an exploded view and other Kinetico info posted on watersoftenersuperstore.com

I would check the paws. Remove the 8 1/4" screws and remove the class slowly. Make sure none of the paws are broken and make sure the ratchet springs are not broken or dislocated.
