My 3 year old son put toilet paper in the tank of my toilet. Before I knew what happened it had already been flushed several times. I was able to use a piece of wire to clear out the rim jets but the main jet at the bottom of the bowl seems to be clogged. The toilet flushes but it has to fill almost to the top first then the siphon starts and everything goes down. I thought over time the TP would break down and eventually work it's way out. Well, it's been about 6 weeks and it's not getting better. I'm starting to think it was more than just toilet paper. We have baby wipes in the bathroom so it's very possible one or more of those went in there too. So my question is, have any of you been able to backflush via the siphon jet and push a clog back to the tank? Maybe I'm wasting my time and need to just buy a new toilet?

You may have something in the trapway of the bowl.
If that is the case, it will hang up paper and wipes. Which by the way, should never be put in a bowl. Even the "flushable" ones.
A closet auger will sometimes clear the trapway, or sometimes we need to pull the bowl and work from the bottom.
