Hi - I have two 1.5 Cubic Foot Watchwater branded Katalox units in parallel and a 7 GPM well. I alternate backwashing every 3 days to get backwash rate of 7GPM each and service rate of 8-10GPM combined. Units are almost 3 months old. I did a Hanna colorimeter iron test my and iron is zero now it was .4 PPM with manganese .7PPM.

I have only aeration no chlorination nor do I want to use chlorination. I would like to clean the media every 30-45 days with oxydes-p granules. I can make this in to a solution as well.

I have no way to get these in to the vessel during backwash. What is the best way to do this? I was contemplating making a small brine tank of a gallon that I can put 2 ounces of oxydes in for I think every 2 liters of water to make a brine - how can I hook this up to the unit?

I don't know what kind of valve these are as they are watchwater branded units. https://www.watchwater.com/

thanks!

Just wondering where you located this Oxydes -p I would like to know what it is and where to get it?
As far as getting into vessel that is easy. Just make up brine line and suck it into the spot where your air check valve is.
I just bought a separate elbow and 3/8 line to use for this purpose.

Aqua systems in Wyoming RI has it cheap. Bought online. The air check valve idea - what if I just use a funnel and drop the powder right in - The oxydes-p is designed as a powder better to use as a powder than brine as the brine starts to degrade the powder quickly because once water touches the oxydes-p powder it starts working lasts about 20 minutes from my testing.

Also - I noticed air bubbles coming in to main water line from one of the two katalox units I have - bubbles decent sized lasted about 1 minute after water flowed through it for a recent use of water in house that lasted about 5 minute full flow. The second katalox unit wasn't doing this. The two units are in parallel.

Just my thought. using the brine line is getting a good soak all the way through it. Mix in two 5 gallon buckets and draw it through slowly. Just thinking out loud. It would be more effective me thinks....I am no pro though! As for air bubbles there should be some from the unit if it is working correctly, right after it regenerates
