Is it true that the same brand faucets are of better quality at the plumbing supply?

I'm going to need to replace my kitchen faucet and I want to choose a good one that will last.

Do they make any faucets with brass parts anymore or have they all gone to plastic with pex tubing connections?

Do plumbers have their favorite brands or models?

Yes the supply house absolutely has better quality faucets than you will find on the shelf at the local box stores.

Asking a plumber their favorite brand of faucet is like asking their favorite pizza joint. You will get answers all over the board.

How true about asking a plumber which faucet they like

Persoally I like Gerber 2 handle deck faucets where people tend to be abusive with their plumbing such as city housing etc as these brass faucets take a lot of abuse and are easy to repair and can last for decades and parts are readily available

For elderly people who do not like to try to test their strength and are GENTLE I like Delta single lever

They also are easy to repair and Delta and PF and some others actually do send repair parts if anything goes wrong

I do not think is so much the quality of the faucet as it is the inspection process. DTU faucets do seem to have more plastic drain asseemvlies than the professional ones, but my experience has been that the "bad" faucets are those that are not "final inspected" before being sent to the retail outlets. It is as if the customer is the "final inspector" and if they do not reject, the comany made a profit, and if they return it, it would have been discarded anyway so there is no loss.
