Hi all,

I'm looking into getting an iron filter for my home that has well water (Northern Illinois). Right now I have a iSpring WSP50ARJ Spin-Down Sediment Water Filter -> SoftPro Elite Water Softener (80k grain).

I've tested my well water twice (one in summer and one in winter).

Winter Well:
Iron: 14.6mg/L

Hardness: 479 mg/L

pH: 7.9

Winter Post-Softener:

Iron: 0.07mg/L

Hardness: <5 mg/ml

pH: 7.73

Summer Well:

Iron: 3.16 mg/L

Hardness: 468 mg/L

pH: 7.44

Summer Post-Softener:

Iron: 0.23mg/L

Hardness: 6 mg/L

pH: 7.5

I've gotten a quote for a Water Right Air Injection 10x54 BIRM filter that will go in place of the spin-down filter and will cost about 2k installed.

My questions:

1.) Is this a good option or should I consider something else?

2.) Is the iron filter's 5 gpm enough? I've measured my max consumption right now via my Moen Flo (if I have most of the large faucets on (tub, washing machine, second tub, and faucet), I'm pulling about 7.5gpm. My well does a max of 9 gpm. I’m leaning towards no but I can’t really find anything options that gives a good output that doesn’t require an even higher gpm for the backwash.

Thanks in advance to all!
