Install extra storage tank for shared well?

We share a well with a neighbor in a rural town. It has a submersible pump and a shared pressure tank that states "82 gallon effective volume." When we have heavy water use, such as watering, the water runs out. Would it help to have a secondary storage tank on our side of the water output? Would it need to be a pressure tank? If so, anyone have advice on what components we need?
Thanks, all.

An 82 gallon pressure tank only holds about 23 gallons of water. Adding an additional pressure tank will not help, as the pump and well will see it as an additional 23 gallons to supply while you are using water.

Do you run completely out of water, or does the pressure just get low because you have a small pump? If the well will supply enough water, you may need a larger pump. If the well will not supply enough water, a cistern storage tank with a booster pump can give you more water for short periods of time. The size of the storage tank needed is determined by the volume of water needed to be used, less the amount the well can supply. If the well can supply 5 GPM, and you need 10 GPM for 2 hours at a time, the storage tank would need to be 600 gallons or larger.

Belated thanks for your advice! I think we have a low output well but will know more when the old pump is replaced (in progress.)
