How to remove Moen Castleby Shower Handle

Hi there fellower DIYers - This is my first post in a plumbing forum although I have used this many times. I am trying to change the setting for the scald guard in the shower; however, I cannot get the handle off. I have a Moen single valve with a center screw. I have removed the center screw but the handle will not come off. Can you guys please let me know if I am missing something? I thought it would just come right off?

I tried to look at other posts but didnt see anything spot on - perhaps because this shower handle is over 10 years old or so.

You may need a handle puller to remove that. Sometimes they're on there pretty good. Have you hit it with some spray oil?

I have not hit it with anything yet - should I use lithium grease or WD-40 or something like that? So do I literally just need to pull super hard on that handle? Maybe use some large pliers and brace on a board to pull straight off? I just wanted to make sure there was not a cotter pin or something holding it on

There is a clip that holds the cartridge, but not one for the handle. Sometimes rocking a bit helps. WD-40
