I'm new to DIY plumbing. I want to remove old bathroom faucet and install new one. I've attached pictures. I can see how I can remove the handles by turning the big hex nut at bottom. What is holding the spout to the sink. Is it the small hex nut at bottom? Or is there another way to remove the spout?
Also, I have an adjustable wrench, plier, and putty. Can you recommend other tools I should buy to make this easier.

The spout is held on by the small nut on the underside. The tee is threaded there too and needs to be removed.

Sometimes a basin wrench is a good tool to have
