I’ve already replaced the cartridge 133504 and my problem on the hot water side isn’t fixed. I either have no water on the hot side or I have water but it is cold. So I’m assuming it’s the back part 133505. However because I have to turn off water to the entire house, I want to know how to remove it before I start the job. I’m a 71 year old lady and am very handy at fix it jobs but normally check on YouTube to get help.. I can’t seem to find help with this. I also asked this question on another thread. What is the red collar for on the cartridge?. It doesn’t seem to make a difference. Thank you IMG_7906.jpegIMG_7909.jpeg

Spray some white vinegar on it let it sit for 20 minutes.

Update: the cartridge was easy to remove but the balancer had to be chiseled out in little pieces. My water is so hard that the unit was hopelessly stuck after over 20 years. My suggestion for those with this water problem and this type of assembly: remove them every couple years and replace with either new ones or the same ones. A plumber would have charged a fortune to remove that stuck part. Thank goodness for my x who has lots of patience.
