Depends what it is, but it's not mold or mildew. I'd try something like softscrub bleach, or maybe a soapscum product.

CLR (Calcium, Lime and Rust) Remover (I like the Bathroom Foam Cleaner),
Scrub Free Bathroom Cleaner (Soap Scum Remover),
    and Soft Scrub

Open the bathroom windows! If no window turn on the exhaust fan and/or a fan placed outside the bathroom to ventilate.

If the tub is acrylic do not use a scrubbing pad at all. A cleaning brush be OK. Let the CLR soak five minutes or so, brush and rinse. May require a few soaks, rinse and any remaining then do the entire tub with Scrub Free on the stained corners and the entire tub. Spread the cleaner with a cleaning brush and let it work for a minute or two and rinse.
For the sink, the same as above but use the Soft Scrub as a final cleaner since it will polish the chrome. Use this type of No Scratch sponge (blue) on and around the faucet.

Their hard water stains. C.L.R. REMOVER. let it soak, scrape it with a plastic knife then scrub it. don't breath the fumes and wear rubber gloves. then CLOROX CLEAN UP.
I didn't read the post above before I wrote this, WorthFlorida is right.

No bleach with any cleaning solution unless it is part of the cleaning solution such as soft scrub but do not mix with other cleaners. Rinse well between cleaning methods.
