Hello everyone!

I've got a few quotes for installing a new split system air-conditioner from this installer.
I have got some conflicting advice about how to calculate energy-efficiency of these units and was wondering if anyone can help clarify for me.

What is an easy way to find energy usage of reverse cycle split-system air-conditioners?

If I install a 2.5kw split system, would it draw 2.5 units of electricity in an hour?

Or it would be drawing about 500 watts as the energy efficiency ratio (EER) of the unit is 3?

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
