Are the connectors on a hot-water hose the same a garden-hose?

No. However that part you identified is not going to fit a common WH anyway. The connections for most water heaters are 3/4 inch. Some bigger ones are 1 inch.

There is probably some industrial, commercial WH that would fit the big honker you named.

The drain valve normally does connect to garden hose thread.

What are you connecting to what? A female GHT to female GHT is what is used to hook up washing machines. A water heater normally has tapered pipe thread.

Normal home water pressure is supposed to be less than 80-psi. While accessories designed for use there are tested at higher pressures, a constant pressure higher might not be reliable long-term. It sounds more like what you need is something industrial.

How long will this be in service? Two weeks at the camp ground? Two years?

Carrying drinking water? That washing machine hose may give a bit of rubber taste.

A standard garden hose is rarely rated for hot water, so keep that in mind.

Good questions... Thanks for asking. Application: Long-term usage of a chemical-injector for irrigation. The injector input/output are male pre-threaded garden-hose connections. Only cold-water, not used for drinking. Standard washer-hoses seem to restrict the volume-throughput. Need a 3-foot least-restrictive hose. Help?
