Hi all,

I need to decide if this is really an issue: The home inspector found the following corrosion on the bottom outlet of the hot water tank. I believe this must be the return to the boiler next to the tank. (This 80 gallon tank has multiple 1" copper pipes coming out of it, which I am not used to) There is a boiler next to it, and it serves to heat the 1 zones of hydro heat in the home, and also the air handler.

Anyways, the bottom fitting on the water tank is corroded as per the pic. The tank is 9 years old. Should this be repaired, and has it compromised the life of the tank? Can I ignore it?
