We have a ranch house built in 1962, on septic system and well water. The house has a pressure pump on the water line from the well. The sewer pipes have almost no slope to them, due to the composition of the ground. I understand, in order to "dig" for the septic tank, dynamite was involved, so the tanks aren't set very deep and the slope of the sewer pipes are the bare minimum for the code at the time, if that. You can only get "low capacity" toilets anymore and the amount of water isn't enough to flush the solids, of any type, down the lines to the septic tanks. Periodically, the bathtub in the main bathroom must be run, at full force, for 10-20 minutes, in order to provide enough force to flush the lines. Two questions, would installing a more powerful pressure pump in the water system improve the issue OR would installing an air assisted toilet fix the issue?

Neither is going to solve the problem, IMO. Once the toilet pressure assist has finished (the bowel is flushed) it does not add anymore assistance to clearing the pipes. That work is done by slope and gravity. Assuming the plumbing was done properly and there is a slop (1/8 to 1/4 per foot) if the line is not clearing properly then you have an obstruction.

Have a plumber come out with a line camera and see what's in there. It could be something stuck in there, roots, or maybe the pipe (if cast iron) is so old now the internals are corroded and have rough/jagged sides that is catching stuff. A video inspection of the pipes will tell a lot.

Are you having any symptoms now, other than a toilet that does not flush well?

You do have your septic tank pumped periodically, right?
