I have 1/2 hp Gould’s jet pump. I’ve noticed that it’s been running a lot lately. And last night I lost its.prime last night and ran all night and this morning it had no pressure. I pulled the pipe from the ground and replaced the check valve on the bottom I reprimed the pump but can’t get it to work. I have water to the top of the pump but nothing happens even with the gauge off the top of the pump. I took apart the pump and I can see the impeller moving
I’m assuming it’s a bad pump but how do I confirm.

Thanks in advance.

Most likely you have a suction leak. You can test the pump drawing water from a 5 gallon bucket. Just put the hose back in the bucket to recirculate the water so the bucket doesn't run dry.
