I have a Paloma ECO200DVP tankless water heater that occasionally stops heating and flashes error code 13. All I do is turn it off and back on and it works again. I called Rheem and they said that it is so old they don't have the maintenance manuals for it. I was hoping to clean it out to see if that helps but the instructions that they sent me do not match the heater that I have. Can anyone help?
Error code 13 on your Paloma ECO200DVP tankless water heater usually means there's a problem with the air supply or exhaust. First, make sure the vent pipes are clear and properly connected. Then, check and clean the air filter if it’s dirty, as a clogged filter can block airflow and cause this error. You can also clean the burners by turning off the heater, letting it cool down, removing the front cover, and using compressed air to blow out any dust or debris. It’s a good idea to check the air intake for any blockages and clean it to ensure proper airflow.
If you haven’t done it recently, flushing the system to remove mineral buildup can help improve its performance. After doing these checks and cleanings, turn the heater off and then back on to reset it. Make sure the area around the unit is well-ventilated and look out for any other error codes. If the problem persists, you might need to call a professional technician who is familiar with Paloma water heaters to get more specific help or replace any faulty parts.
