Help with MOEN cartridge removal. I am at a loss on how to replace the cartridge on this Moen Shower faucet. Can anyone enlighten me? Is the brass nipple seen in the photo an adaptor of sort? No retaining clip, and nipple will not budge. Does it twist? Pull straight out? Special tool needed? Center screw has been removed. Its def from the late 90’s. Center screw was removed from adaptor. Single handle posi temp, I believe. Assistance appreciated, folks!

The gray metal part holds the handle, and it pulls off.

Once the handle is off, and the two screws removed to remove the wall plate, this is what the valve looks like, with the stop tube removed.
